This is my friend's peacock, George, showing off for his family—who couldn't care less.
This iris is in my garden, and I do appreciate its show.
Even the modest flowers of rosemary add to the allure of spring.
More is happening in my garden than usual because I'm adding art to it. But that's for later blogs.

What holds everything together?

This sculpture brought a question to mind: What holds matter together? Considering the nature of the atom, why don't the elements fly apart?
The galaxies appear to be moving away from us and from each other, so why don't the stars within the galaxies spread out until they're evenly distributed throughout the universe?
Gravity is not the answer. Neither is electro-magnetism. It is still a mystery. Only God knows.
But, guess what? God has revealed the answer! "For by Him [Christ] all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible . . . and in Him all things hold together," Colossians 1:16-17.
Not only does He hold the elements together, He holds human affairs together. What other explanation is there for the continued existence of the Jewish people in the face of thousands of years off and on of determined effort on the part of their enemies to exterminate them?
In addition, He holds us—body and soul—together. "In His hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind," Job 12:10.
